Weathered CLA45 window trimrefinished in high-gloss black
This older Mercedes-AMG CLA45 arrived with visible white spotting and clouding across the silver window trim. We covered the trim with 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080-HG12 High Gloss Black, creating a cleaner black window line that works naturally with the black body.
White spotting can make European-car trim look older than the body
The silver trim on this CLA45 showed extensive spotting and clouding. On a black vehicle, that contrast is especially noticeable around the side glass.
Cover the visual damage, then redesign the window line
Wrapping does not chemically remove corrosion or restore the substrate itself. After checking the condition of the trim, the film covers the weathered appearance and changes the visual finish at the same time.
From weathered silver to a continuous black window line
The comparison uses real photographs taken before and after the work; no simulated recoloring is used.
High gloss, not matte
This project is intentionally different from our matte-black GLB trim case. For the CLA45, the high-gloss black finish better connects the window line with the glossy black body and pillars.
